Joseph Chaplik, a Republican businessman in Scottsdale, will be running for the Arizona House of Representatives and his name can be expected on the Aug. 4 primary ballot, according to Scottsdale Independent.
Chaplik is running for the District 23 seat, which includes Rio Verde, Fountain Hills and Scottsdale. Thus far, his campaign has raised more than his opposing candidates and supports lowering taxes and keeping a strong economy, according to the news agency. He is also for a limited government in the state.
“Before entering this race, I spoke with a lot of friends and associates in our district who were looking for a new, conservative voice in the state legislature,” Chaplik told Scottsdale Independent. “It’s time for a change with new leadership for District 23 and I want to be that voice to proudly represent the voters. Leading with a conservative, business approach with common sense policies.”
