WestWorld of Scottsdale ended 2025 with significant growth, expanded events, and targeted infrastructure improvements. The venue saw an increase in both the diversity and number of events, which brought many first-time visitors and reinforced its importance to Scottsdale’s economy and culture.
City Manager Greg Caton stated, “WestWorld plays a critical role in Scottsdale’s economy and tourism ecosystem. In 2025, we saw meaningful growth in both event diversity and facility investment, ensuring WestWorld remains competitive, flexible and well-positioned for the future.”
Western and equine events remained strong at WestWorld this year. Reining, reined cow horse, and rodeo competitions reported record participation. Barrett-Jackson expanded its presence by bringing back its fall Collector Car Auction alongside its established January event. The Tour de Scottsdale also returned for a second year with higher attendance.
New high-profile events were added to the schedule in 2025, including the Global Champions Arabian Tour, Scottsdale Art Week, and Every Woman’s Marathon. These additions broadened WestWorld’s audience beyond traditional event-goers.
To support this growth, the City of Scottsdale invested in WestWorld’s infrastructure. Two new permanent barns replaced older facilities to improve safety and animal welfare. A new public address system is being installed to enhance communication on site. Additionally, a major drainage project reached construction readiness after receiving necessary approvals. More portable stalls were also added to meet rising demand from equestrian and livestock events.
Deputy City Manager Judy Doyle said, “These investments are about modernizing WestWorld and preparing it for the next generation of events. They improve the experience for promoters, participants and guests while protecting the city’s long-term investment in the facility.”
Looking forward to 2026, WestWorld has already secured new events that will continue building on this year’s momentum.
Scottsdale has long been recognized for blending Western heritage with cultural activities since its early years (https://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/about/scottsdale-history). With updated facilities and a growing national profile, WestWorld enters 2026 ready to continue contributing economic benefits to Scottsdale.
