Access to the Scottsdale Civic Center will be restricted at various times in November due to upcoming events, including the Dreamy Draw Music Festival and Every Woman’s Marathon. Full closures are scheduled from Wednesday, Nov. 5 through Sunday, Nov. 9, and again from Thursday, Nov. 13 through Sunday, Nov. 16. Limited access will be available on other days, with reopening planned in stages as event equipment is removed.
The Old Town Scottsdale area expects a significant increase in visitors this season as it hosts multiple events over the coming months. Scottsdale will honor veterans and active-duty service members throughout November with special programs such as the Scottsdale Salutes banner initiative in Old Town, an Army vs. Navy polo match at WestWorld featuring local veterans in a ceremonial “first drop,” a Veterans Day hike in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, and the city’s annual Veterans Day Commemoration at City Hall Memorial Lawn.
Construction has started on a $13 million storm drain project along Roosevelt Street/Continental Drive to address flooding near the Scottsdale/Tempe border. The project is managed by Tempe in partnership with Scottsdale and the Flood Control District of Maricopa County. It involves installing 7,500 feet of new drainage lines and related infrastructure to improve stormwater collection for both cities. The Flood Control District will fund 65% of costs; each city will contribute 17.5%. Completion is expected by December 2026.
In spring 2026, work will begin on solar shade canopies at Scottsdale City Hall’s parking lot as part of a $1.97 million bond-funded project approved by voters. The photovoltaic structures are projected to offset about three-quarters of City Hall’s electricity use and pay back their cost within two decades while providing shaded parking and flexible public space for community events.
Several public meetings are scheduled for early November covering topics such as city council matters, veterans affairs, development review, human relations issues, community safety initiatives, library services, fire board business and more.
The Canal Convergence event returns to the Scottsdale Waterfront from Nov. 7–16 for its fourteenth year under the theme “SHOWTIME!” The program features light-based art installations alongside interactive activities including workshops and live performances.
On Saturday, Nov. 8th at Scottsdale Airport (15000 N. Airport Drive), a holiday movie night screening “Home Alone” is scheduled; attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and donate non-perishable food items for Vista del Camino food bank.
WestWorld will host both the Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships (Nov. 8–9) showcasing live performances and luxury displays as well as Desert Dog Police K9 Trials & Public Safety Expo—the largest police K9 competition nationally—on those same dates.
Scottsdazzle holiday celebrations start with a tree lighting event on Saturday evening Nov. 29th; other ongoing cultural activities include weekly ArtWalks featuring local galleries every Thursday night plus regular programming at venues like Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts and Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West.
Residents are invited to participate in shaping transportation safety strategies via an online questionnaire open until Nov. 15th aimed at informing future investments into safer travel across all modes within city limits.
