Majority Whip Frank Carroll marked the 50th anniversary of the Boeing AH-64 Apache helicopter, recognizing its role in national defense and its connection to Arizona’s aerospace industry. The event took place at Falcon Field, where engineers, active-duty military personnel, lawmakers from both state and federal levels, and local officials gathered to commemorate the helicopter’s legacy.
The Apache attack helicopter was developed in the mid-1970s and has been produced for decades at Boeing’s Mesa facility. It is widely regarded as one of the most advanced attack helicopters globally.
“It’s an honor to stand with the dedicated Arizonans and military personnel who have helped make the Apache a global symbol of excellence,” said Majority Whip Carroll. “For 50 years, this aircraft has protected American lives and advanced our national security, and I’m proud to support the men and women who ensure it remains the best in the world.”
Petersen, a Republican, was elected to represent Arizona’s 14th Senate District in 2023, succeeding David Gowan.
