Item 16, titled “Scottsdale General Plan 2035: Targeted Policy & Implementation Alignment,” has been withdrawn from the agenda for the upcoming Scottsdale City Council meeting scheduled for Monday, August 25.

City Manager Greg Caton made the decision to withdraw the item after consulting with Interim City Attorney Luis Santaella. The revision in focus now centers on updating the General Plan only to ensure it aligns with recent changes in state statutes.

According to city officials, since these updates are limited to compliance with state laws that Scottsdale already meets, there is no requirement or need for the City Council to initiate further changes. As a result, the agenda item is no longer necessary.

Legal timing constraints related to Arizona’s Open Meeting Law prevent updates to both the online and physically posted agendas at City Hall regarding this withdrawal. The city is using its communication channels to notify residents about this change ahead of the meeting.
