Scottsdale Video Network has released its January program guide, outlining a range of shows and public meeting broadcasts available to viewers. The network airs continuously on Cox Cable channel 11 and via live stream, with City Council, Planning Commission, and Development Review Board meetings also accessible through the city’s YouTube channel.

The programming includes Emmy-winning “Arizona Wildlife Views,” which explores recreational and wildlife opportunities across Arizona. “Desert Gardening with Carol Stuttard” provides advice on planting vegetable gardens in the region, while “Grow Strong & Healthy Trees in the Desert” offers guidance on cultivating desert trees.

A documentary titled “Honoring Preserve Pioneers” recounts the Scottsdale City Council’s decision on October 3, 1994, to establish the McDowell Sonoran Preserve by passing Resolution No. 4103. This initiative aimed to protect the McDowell Mountains and Sonoran Desert permanently.

Other programs include “InfoView,” which delivers updates about city events and services; “Living with Urban Wildlife,” focused on coexisting with local animals; and “One Short Ride,” presented by the Arizona Game and Fish Department.

Historical content is featured as well. The show “Pony Express” documents riders recreating a historic mail route from Payson to Scottsdale. In addition, an archived interview with artist Robert McCall is included in “Scottsdale Artbeat: Robert McCall.” Local musicians are highlighted in “Songwriters’ Showcase.”

Crime stories are explored in “‘Til Death Do Us Part,” covering two notable cases involving Scottsdale residents. National defense is addressed in “The US Space Force – America’s Invisible Front Line,” a documentary examining space security roles.

Veterans’ contributions are recognized in “Veterans AZ,” featuring interviews with those who have served or support veterans statewide. Topics relevant to older adults are discussed on “Vintage Voice,” hosted by Jessica Rapp, Greer Albaugh, Gayle Bass, and Kira Peters.

The city’s history is covered in “Winfield Scott, Founding Father,” which tells how Winfield Scott established Scottsdale after purchasing land in the Salt River Valley in 1888 [source].
