Scottsdale is encouraging residents to apply for open positions on several of its volunteer boards and commissions. These groups, led by citizens, are responsible for helping shape local policies, examining community issues, and making recommendations to the Scottsdale City Council. Their input influences decisions related to neighborhood quality, city finances, and development.

Currently, there are five available positions across four public bodies: one on the Board of Adjustment, one on the Building Advisory Board of Appeals, two on the Loss Trust Fund Board, and one on the Neighborhood Advisory Commission. Applications are open until Friday, Nov. 7, and can be submitted online through the city’s website by searching for “Boards and Commissions.” Information about each board’s duties and meeting times is also provided online.

Applications remain valid for one year. After the application period, the City Council will review submissions, nominate candidates for interviews, and make appointments in December. Those chosen will be required to complete training and agree to adhere to the city’s Ethics Code before starting their terms.

“Serving on a board or commission is a meaningful way to contribute to Scottsdale’s success. Apply today and help shape the future of your community.”
