Scottsdale City Manager Greg Caton has introduced a series of organizational changes aimed at improving the city’s operations and internal coordination. These changes are designed to keep senior leadership more connected to service delivery and city priorities.
The leadership team in Scottsdale is composed of experienced professionals with extensive public service backgrounds. Many have advanced through the ranks within Scottsdale, building a strong foundation of knowledge and experience.
Scottsdale has received recognition at the 2025 Arizona Travel Awards, winning in three categories: Best Statewide Community Event for Scottsdazzle, Best Big Market Destination Marketing Campaign for June Days, and Best Big Market Under-the-Radar Activity for the Arizona Indigenous Culinary Experience. Tourism significantly contributes to Scottsdale’s economy, generating nearly $74 million annually in local tax revenue. Events like Scottsdazzle and Western Week draw over 30,000 visitors to Old Town, while June Days partners with local merchants to host numerous summer events.
Public meetings scheduled for the week of July 21 include sessions from the Industrial Development Authority, Planning Commission, Scottsdale Housing Agency Governing Board, and Human Services Advisory Commission.
McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park will host “Slide the Rails,” a water-themed event featuring giant inflatable slides and other attractions. Tickets go on sale July 29.
Registration for fall activities opens soon: July 28 for residents and July 31 for non-residents. Additionally, a free Summer Memory Camp session will be held on July 23 at Granite Reef Senior Center.
A part-time Library Aide position is available at Civic Center. The role involves customer service duties at circulation desks and maintaining library operations.
