The Old Town Scottsdale Farmers Market will be moving to a new location at the City Hall surface lot at 75th Street and Bennie Gonzales Way, following an agreement approved by the City Council on November 17. The market, which has operated for more than ten years at the city-owned parking structure at First Street and Brown Avenue, is relocating due to planned expansion of that parking facility. The change will take effect with the start of the 2026–27 season.

City Manager Greg Caton emphasized that minimizing disruption to vendors and visitors was a key consideration in choosing the new site. “The farmers market is one of Scottsdale’s most loved traditions,” Caton said. “Moving it to City Hall keeps it close to the heart of Old Town and gives vendors and visitors the space they need while we make improvements elsewhere. It’s a win for residents, small businesses and the community as a whole.”

Since its inception in 2009, the Old Town Farmers Market has been held every Saturday from October through June, hosting about 100 vendors each week. These include local growers, bakers, food producers, and artisans offering fresh produce and specialty foods.

The relocation aims to maintain access for both shoppers and vendors by providing more space and easier entry points. The market also plays a role in supporting local families and businesses by bringing additional customers to area restaurants and shops, backing Arizona agricultural producers, participating in voucher programs for low-income households seeking healthy food options, collaborating with Senior Services, and taking part in events such as Western Week, Scottsdazzle, and June Days.

Under the terms of the new agreement, up to 40 Saturday markets per year can be held at City Hall. According to city staff, this move will not require any extra municipal resources or staffing.
