The city of Scottsdale has been recognized with three awards at the 2025 Arizona Travel Awards, underscoring its dedication to enhancing visitor experiences and promoting local culture.

The awards were announced in PHOENIX magazine’s July/August “Best of the Valley” issue. Scottsdale was honored in three categories: Best Statewide Community Event for Scottsdazzle, Best Big Market Destination Marketing Campaign for June Days, and Best Big Market Under-the-Radar Activity for the Arizona Indigenous Culinary Experience. The Arizona Travel Awards aim to highlight outstanding destinations, events, and campaigns that encourage travel throughout the state.

“Scottsdale is honored to receive not one, but three awards,” said Rachel Smetana, Scottsdale’s Tourism and Events Director. “The city strives to create stellar experiences for local, national and international visitors, and we are thrilled that these programs have been recognized. Their continued success is thanks to passionate merchant participation, expert community partners and unwavering resident support.”

Tourism significantly impacts Scottsdale’s economy by generating nearly $74 million in local tax revenue each year. Events like Scottsdazzle and Western Week draw over 30,000 visitors to Old Town annually. Meanwhile, June Days enlivens the area during slower travel periods by partnering with more than 50 local merchants for over 100 summer events. These initiatives align with Scottsdale’s tourism strategy focused on community well-being, culture and creativity, placemaking, and entertainment.

Scottsdazzle transforms Old Town into a festive holiday destination from November through year-end with shopping, dining, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities. June Days offers a monthlong series of daily events such as wine tastings and art walks aimed at supporting local businesses during the off-season. The Arizona Indigenous Culinary Experience highlights culinary traditions from Arizona’s Indigenous communities as part of the Arizona Indian Festival.
