Scottsdale announces lineup of fall and winter community events

Scottsdale is set to host a series of seasonal events throughout the fall and winter, offering activities for residents and visitors of all ages.

The McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park will celebrate its 50th anniversary with Railfair on October 4-5. The event will feature model railroad clubs, guest exhibitors, interactive displays, and a recreation of the 1975 steam engine banner-breaking photo.

The Old Town Scottsdale Farmers Market returns on October 4 at 3806 N. Brown Ave., with over 100 local growers and specialty food vendors available every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Arizona Fall League baseball begins on October 6 at Scottsdale Stadium. The Scottsdale Scorpions will play 15 home games during the season, which also includes hosting the quarterfinal round of playoffs in November.

From October 10-31, McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park transforms for Halloween Spook-Track-ula, an annual family-friendly event featuring a spooky train ride each night. The event concludes on October 31 with free trick-or-treating in the park’s Desert Arboretum from 4 to 9:30 p.m.

WestWorld will be the site of the Barrett-Jackson Fall Auction from October 15-18, where guests can view collector cars, participate in bidding, and visit an exhibitor marketplace.

The Scottsdale Fall Festival takes place on October 18 at Scottsdale Civic Center. The festival offers live music, carnival games, crafts, Trick-or-Treat Alley, a Pumpkin Patch, and a new cocktail garden for adults. City department booths will provide information to residents.

Scottsdale Dia de Los Muertos runs from October 23-26 at Scottsdale Civic Center. Events include “Danza de Los Muertos” by Huey-Colhuacan Folk Ballet Company on October 24 and “Procession Desfile de Los Muertos” on October 25. Most events are free; tickets for “Danza de Los Muertos” are available through Scottsdale Arts.

On October 27, Fire Station 613 hosts “What’s in my backyard?”, part of a new neighborhood outreach series based on City Council priorities for fiscal year 2025/26. Residents can meet city staff and learn about local projects and services during this open house event.

The Domestic Violence Awareness Trunk-or-Treat is scheduled for October 30 at the McKellips District parking lot (7601 E. McKellips Road) from 5 to 8 p.m., providing children with safe trick-or-treating while raising awareness about domestic violence prevention resources.

Canal Convergence returns November 7-16 at the Scottsdale Waterfront with light-based public art installations themed around performance arts. The program includes interactive artwork, workshops, tours, community activities, live music and dance.

Scottsdale Airport will hold its fourth movie night on November 8 featuring “Home Alone.” Gates open at 5 p.m., movie starts at 6 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for donation to Vista del Camino food bank.

Also on November 8-9 at WestWorld are the Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships and Desert Dog Police K9 Trials & Public Safety Expo. The polo championships offer live performances and luxury fashion showcases while the K9 trials feature police dog competitions involving teams from across the U.S., as well as safety demonstrations and vendor exhibits.

A Veterans Day Commemoration is planned for November 11 at Civic Center Memorial Lawn beginning at 10:30 a.m., including patriotic music performed by the Coast Guard Auxiliary Band.

Holiday Lights will illuminate McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park nightly from November 28 through December 30 with festive displays and train rides aboard Paradise & Pacific Railroad; capacity is limited to enhance guest experience.

Scottsdazzle begins November 29 with a tree lighting ceremony at Waterfront Plaza followed by more than forty-five events throughout December celebrating dining, shopping, and holiday traditions in downtown Scottsdale.

McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park will host Noon Year’s Eve December 31 from eleven in the morning until one in the afternoon—a family-friendly celebration marking both New Year’s Eve and fifty years of community history.
