Republic Services Charitable Foundation announced on March 4 the recipients of its 2026 National Neighborhood Promise grants, awarding funding to fourteen nonprofit organizations across the United States to support community revitalization and neighborhood improvement projects.
The grants aim to help nonprofits address local needs such as green spaces, playgrounds, workforce development, and resources for vulnerable populations. The foundation said these efforts are designed to foster stronger and more sustainable communities.
Elena Goodhall, director of community investment for Republic Services, said, “At Republic Services, we support communities in ways that make a lasting positive impact for our neighbors. Our nonprofit partners are leading positive change in our neighborhoods, and we aim to help foster stronger, more resilient communities.”
This year’s grants total $2.9 million and are expected to benefit about 1.7 million people nationwide. In addition to financial support, local Republic Services teams will participate in a day of service at each grant location alongside nonprofit partners.
Jodi Valenta, associate vice president and Massachusetts state director for Trust for Public Land, said, “This generous investment from Republic Services will help transform Archdale Village Park and Playground into the safe, vibrant green space this community needs. Trust for Public Land is committed to ensuring every Boston resident has access to high-quality parks and green spaces, and this investment reflects what is possible when public, private and community partners come together around a shared vision.”
Projects funded by the grants include renovations at St. Vincent de Paul in Phoenix; music room construction at SOUNDS Academy in Arizona; facility improvements at Vindeket Foods in Colorado; urban farm development by Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago; new park creation by Trust for Public Land in Massachusetts; classroom expansion by Community Harvest Network in Maryland; housing development by Moore Public Schools Foundation in Oklahoma City; facility upgrades by Rebuilding Together Houston; mentorship programs through In My Corner Inc. in Virginia; among others.
