Arizona House Representative Alexander Kolodin has announced his intention to run for Secretary of State, citing concerns over current officeholder Adrian Fontes’ actions. Kolodin claims these actions undermine election law and pledges to restore integrity and transparency if elected.

“Even Katie Hobbs agrees with me that Adrian Fontes refusal to follow the law is bad for Arizona voters,” said Kolodin, State Representative from Arizona. “It’s beyond clear that Fontes is a lawless extremist. I’m running to replace him and restore honesty, transparency and lawfulness back to Arizona elections!”

Arizona’s elections have been under intense legislative scrutiny following disputes over ballot procedures and administrative rulings. Lawmakers, including Kolodin, emphasize the need for strict adherence to election statutes and greater transparency in statewide vote management.

The Secretary of State in Arizona oversees more than 4 million registered voters, certifies results, manages voter registration systems, and ensures compliance with state election law. This office plays a crucial role in maintaining electoral integrity.

Election confidence among Arizona voters has fluctuated sharply since 2020. Surveys indicate that over 35% of residents express concerns about fairness and lawfulness in ballot processing. Calls for reform continue to shape the state’s political dialogue.

Kolodin serves as a House Representative for Arizona’s District 3 and is an attorney known for his advocacy on election integrity and constitutional issues. As a Republican lawmaker, he has championed stronger oversight of voting procedures and ballot security measures.
