Rep. Joseph Chaplik, a Republican elected to the Arizona State House in 2023 to represent the state’s 3rd House District, posted a series of statements on social media expressing concern about attacks on immigration enforcement officers and voicing support for law enforcement.
On January 9, 2026, Chaplik wrote: “ICE and Border Patrol are being attacked across the country by vicious murdering scum like these Tren De Aragua (TDA) members. Biden and the Dems let Millions of illegals with criminal records into our country and this chaos is the result. We must defend ICE and Border Patrol”.
Later that day, he commented on an incident involving an officer: “This was absolutely a reckless criminal act against the officer, who clearly asked her to get out of the car. These women targeted him for being an ICE officer and the driver tried to run him over. Shame on the media and every slimy politician who lied about what happened.”
On January 10, 2026, Chaplik acknowledged Law Enforcement Appreciation Day by referencing his connection with local sheriffs: “Today is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. I have a deep personal connection through our last two America First Sheriffs. Maricopa County Sheriff Jerry Sheridan brought back law and order in our district and I support him fully. Joe Arpaio was ‘America’s Toughest Sheriff’ and”.
Chaplik succeeded Andres Cano as representative for Arizona’s 3rd House District following his election in 2023.
