Rep. Joseph Chaplik, a Republican currently serving in the Arizona State House, announced his candidacy for Arizona’s 1st Congressional District through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter). On December 15, 2025, Chaplik declared his campaign with the message: “Today, I announce my candidacy in #AZ01. AZ needs a battle-tested conservative to fight reckless spending, make communities safe, secure the border and put the people ahead of special interests. I’ve done it at the State Capitol. Chaplik was elected to represent Arizona’s 3rd House District in 2023 after replacing former state representative Andres Cano.
