Rep. Joseph Chaplik, a Republican member of the Arizona State House representing the 3rd District, posted a series of statements on his Twitter account in mid-May 2026 addressing political developments, military recognition, and criticism from an opponent.

On May 15, Chaplik shared optimism about upcoming congressional outcomes: “Great news for Virginia, but even better news for this country. We WILL keep the House. I am looking forward to serving with Virginia’s delegation”.

Two days later, on Armed Forces Day, he honored military service members: ” Today is Armed Forces Day to honor active and former U.S. military service members who have given everything in defense of this nation. I’ve met many veterans and very honored to have met Gene Metcalfe, a WWII Army veteran at 103 years old, one of the greatest generation! God” (May 17).

Also on May 17, Chaplik responded to remarks made by his political opponent regarding immigration policy and comments about Haitian migrants: “My opponent called me a racist because I don’t support bringing illegal Haitians into our country. Now he justified and laughed about Haitian migrants eating dogs, cats and SWANS, in America, as they ‘may make a good meal.’ In the same clip he called President Trump”.

Chaplik was elected to represent Arizona’s 3rd House District in 2023 after replacing Andres Cano as state representative.
