Rep. David Schweikert, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, recently addressed issues ranging from organ procurement oversight to concerns about the federal debt in a series of posts on his official social media account.
On December 2, 2025, Schweikert reported chairing an oversight hearing for the House Ways and Means Committee regarding problems in organ procurement. He stated, “I chaired a @WaysandMeansGOP Oversight hearing today on serious failures in organ procurement. Thank you to the witnesses who stepped forward to help Congress improve transparency and protect patients.”
The following day, December 3, Schweikert turned his attention to fiscal matters before the House Budget Committee. He wrote, “With federal debt climbing fast and interest payments ballooning, I spoke to the @HouseBudgetGOP about why we cannot delay tough decisions any longer.”
On December 4, he continued this theme with another post warning about future financial obligations: “I warned the House last night that our current path demands 104% of the next generation’s income just to meet existing obligations. That is immoral. Fixing this starts with honesty about the math.”
Schweikert has served multiple terms in Congress after winning closely contested elections. In 2024, he defeated Amish Shah with 51.9% of the vote; two years earlier, he narrowly won against Jevin Hodge by less than one percentage point.
