Rep. David Schweikert, a U.S. Congressman from Arizona, recently shared updates on local arts funding, school choice, and the state’s climate through his social media posts.
On January 25, 2026, Schweikert congratulated a local arts organization for receiving federal support: “Congratulations to Silambam Phoenix on a $15,000 FY26 National Endowment for the Arts grant. They’re producing a new Bharatanatyam work in Phoenix linking the Boston Tea Party and India’s Salt March, with live music, workshops, and community conversations.”
As National School Choice Week began on January 26, 2026, Schweikert commented on educational options in Arizona: “As National School Choice Week begins, I’m thinking about what I see at home in Arizona. When parents can choose, kids land in classrooms that fit them, from robotics labs and strong STEM programs to specialized settings with Braille and adaptive tools. That is how you”
Later that day, he referenced Arizona’s weather: “I’ll still take 110 and dry Arizona heat over 10 degrees and snow any day.”
Schweikert has represented his district following victories in recent elections. In 2024, he won re-election against Amish Shah with 51.9% of the vote to Shah’s 48.1%. Two years earlier in 2022, he narrowly defeated Jevin Hodge by a margin of less than one percent.
