Rep. David Schweikert, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, recently addressed two major developments on his social media account: an alleged fraud network in Minnesota and the activation of Space Forces Southern at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.

On January 22, 2026, Schweikert wrote, “I joined my colleagues on @WaysandMeansGOP to demand @IRS immediately shut down a coordinated fraud network in Minnesota that used ‘nonprofits’ as cover to move taxpayer dollars. @DOJ has already charged nearly 80 individuals. One case alone involved more than $250 million spent”. He followed this post with a link to additional information here.

Later that day, Schweikert highlighted a military development: “A consequential shift for regional security just happened in Tucson. Space Forces Southern is now active at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, serving as the U.S. Space Force component for U.S. Southern Command.”

Schweikert represents Arizona in Congress and has recently secured electoral victories against Democratic challengers. In 2024, he defeated Amish Shah by securing 51.9% of the vote compared to Shah’s 48.1%. In the previous cycle, he narrowly won against Jevin Hodge with 50.4% of the vote.

These posts reflect ongoing federal efforts to address financial crime involving nonprofit organizations and mark significant changes in U.S. military posture related to space operations in the southern region.
