Rep. David Schweikert, a U.S. Congressman from Arizona, recently posted a series of statements on his Twitter account addressing healthcare subsidies, federal debt accumulation, and law enforcement appreciation.

On January 9, 2026, Schweikert criticized the current state of healthcare subsidies in the United States. He wrote: “This is the scam, with the receipts: 41% paid $0 premium. Only ~1/3 of the $35–$40B “enhanced” subsidy even reaches health care. ~1/3 never made a claim. And brokers were signing people up who didn’t even know they were enrolled. That’s not health care. That’s a subsidy scam.”

Later that day, Schweikert commented on the national debt rate, stating: “Washington’s new unit of measurement is the second. That’s how fast we’re piling on debt: $92,912 a second” (January 9, 2026).

In another post honoring law enforcement officers on January 9, 2026, Schweikert said: “Today we honor the officers who keep the peace and protect our families. You’ll always have our backs. We’ll always have yours.”

Schweikert has served multiple terms in Congress and secured re-election victories in recent years. In 2024, he defeated Amish Shah with 51.9% of the vote to retain his seat ([source](https://ballotpedia.org/David_Schweikert)). Previously, in 2022, he narrowly won against Jevin Hodge by securing just over half of the votes.
