Rep. David Schweikert, a U.S. Congressman from Arizona, posted a series of messages on his social media account on January 6, 2026, addressing constituent services, legislative priorities, and the passing of a fellow lawmaker.

In an early morning post, Schweikert offered assistance to constituents dealing with federal agencies: “If a federal agency has you stuck in limbo, you don’t have to handle it alone. My office can help with issues like passports, Medicare, and Veterans Affairs. Call my district office at 480-946-2411, and we’ll help you sort out the next steps.” (January 6, 2026).

Later that day, he expressed condolences following the death of Rep. Doug LaMalfa: “I’m deeply saddened by the passing of Doug LaMalfa. Doug was a principled public servant and a tireless advocate for rural communities. He never forgot who he worked for.

Please join me in praying for his family, his staff, and the people of Northern California as they grieve” (January 6, 2026).

Schweikert also highlighted his ongoing legislative efforts regarding artificial intelligence in healthcare: “For years I’ve led legislation to allow AI to prescribe. In order to lower costs, expand access, and make Americans healthier we must realign incentives and legalize innovation” (January 6, 2026).

Schweikert has represented Arizona’s congressional district through several competitive elections. In 2024 he won re-election against Amish Shah with approximately 51.9% of the vote compared to Shah’s 48.1%. In the previous cycle in 2022 he narrowly defeated Jevin Hodge by less than one percentage point.
