Rep. David Schweikert, U.S. Congressman from Arizona, recently shared a series of posts on his social media account addressing the passing of a public figure, concerns about healthcare billing practices, and reflections on American independence.
On January 13, 2026, Schweikert expressed condolences following the death of Mark Brnovich: “Joyce and I are truly saddened to hear of Mark Brnovich’s passing.
Mark was a steadfast public servant who loved Arizona and spent his life fighting for the rule of law and justice. Beyond the titles, he was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother—and that’s the loss that”.
The following day, January 14, 2026, Schweikert criticized certain healthcare billing incentives with an example involving a senior citizen in Sun City: “A senior in Sun City got “risk scored” as having HIV, without ever being tested, because it triggered a bigger bonus.
That is not health care. That is a billing scheme. Fix the incentives. Pay for outcomes instead of paperwork.
Use technology to help seniors get healthier”.
Later that same day, Schweikert commented on American history: “God bless the men who won our independence. And God bless anyone who thinks signing the treaty was the hard part. “.
Schweikert has served multiple terms in Congress representing Arizona’s 1st congressional district. He secured re-election in both 2022 and 2024; most recently defeating Amish Shah by receiving 51.9% of the vote compared to Shah’s 48.1%. In the previous cycle he narrowly defeated Jevin Hodge with just over half of all votes cast.
