Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (AZ Blue) has announced the opening of nominations for its annual “Nurses Who Inspire” contest. The initiative aims to recognize nurses in Arizona who demonstrate exceptional commitment and service in their profession.

Residents across Arizona can nominate a practicing nurse who has made a significant impact through clinical excellence, mentorship, innovation, or community involvement. Nominations are open until August 25, and self-nominations are accepted.

“Nurses are the heart of healthcare,” said Dr. Cara Christ, Chief Medical Officer at AZ Blue. “Their hard work, compassion, and love for what they do make a real difference – and it’s important to show appreciation.”

Three selected winners will each receive a $3,000 cash prize as well as tickets to an Arizona Diamondbacks game. Winners will also be recognized on the field during the event.

To be eligible, nominees must currently work in a healthcare setting within Arizona. Winners will be announced in September. Those interested can submit nominations by completing a form detailing how the nominee embodies the spirit of nursing and sharing personal experiences that highlight their passion for the profession.

More information about submitting nominations is available at https://www.azblue.com/nominateanurse
