Representative Michele Peña, a Republican member of the Arizona State House for the 23rd District, posted a series of tweets on September 17, 2025, expressing concerns about various social and political issues in the United States.
In her first tweet at 22:19 UTC, Peña wrote: “There once came a time,
When a person “stayed quiet” and “did nothing” while America was being loudly destroyed;
Kids went missing,
Kids were mutilated,
Schools indoctrinated kids,
Families were destroyed;

Continuing her remarks at 22:20 UTC, she stated: “Our Government was weaponized,
The COVID vaccine mandate was tyrannical,
Businesses were shut down,
Schools were shut down and refused to open,
But our borders were widely opened,
Cities were destroyed by civil unrests,
The American flag was burnt,
Our nation was divided;

Later that evening at 22:27 UTC, Peña added: “Every day, people die w regret. Don’t be one who dies w regret for “staying quiet” or “doing nothing” Yesterday came the time, Where a Father was publicly assassinated To silence his freedom of speech and religion.
Tomorrow might come the time, Where taking your freedom is next!”.
Peña has served in the Arizona State House since her election in 2023 to represent District 23. She succeeded John Kavanagh in this role.
