Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky has acknowledged the strong response from business owners, property owners, and community stakeholders interested in joining the Ad Hoc Downtown Task Force for Old Town Scottsdale. The mayor’s office has made a final request for those wishing to participate to contact her office by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4.

“The response so far has been incredible, and it shows how deeply people care about Old Town’s future,” Mayor Borowsky said. “This task force will play a critical role in guiding meaningful, community-driven improvements, and I encourage anyone interested in participating to reach out before the March 4 deadline.”

The Downtown Task Force is set up as an advisory group to help guide discussions and recommendations regarding Old Town Scottsdale’s future. At its first meeting, the task force will create six subcommittees that will focus on areas important to residents.

Members chosen for the Advisory Council to the Downtown Task Force will work directly with Mayor Borowsky on projects aimed at supporting Old Town’s long-term vibrancy, safety, appearance, and success.

“Your insights and involvement are essential,” Mayor Borowsky said. “Old Town’s success has always been driven by our commitment to community partnerships. This task force is the office of the mayor and, in turn, the city harnessing those partnerships and commitment to bring those ideas and vision to fruition.”

Borowsky has supported initiatives serving children, older adults, and underprivileged youth through board roles during her career as detailed on her official website. She also served as mayor of Scottsdale according to city records, after having previously served on the Scottsdale City Council from 2008 to 2012 where she advocated for fiscal responsibility and budget improvements. The mayor’s office continues its emphasis on resident engagement through updates and reports as noted online, reflecting Borowsky’s lifelong residency in Scottsdale and ongoing commitment.
