Matt Gress, a Republican member of the Arizona State House representing the 4th District since 2023, has recently used his social media platform to comment on educational and union matters.

On October 10, 2025, Gress responded to a previous statement with a brief affirmation: “Correct.”

Later that day, he addressed an incident involving school officials and teacher conduct. Gress posted: “Do you think a teacher sending a shirtless photo to a student requires school officials to gain more ‘context’ before referring the matter to the State Board of Education for investigation? That’s what the highest paid superintendent in the state seems to think. Unbelievable.” This statement highlights his concern regarding administrative responses to alleged inappropriate behavior in schools.

On October 13, 2025, Gress criticized the national teachers union for distributing materials to its members. He wrote: “The national teachers union (@NEAToday) passed out ‘educational resources’ to their union members that literally wiped the nation of Israel off the map and replaced it with Palestine! Their materials blatantly advocate ‘From the River to the Sea.’ Disgusting!”

Gress was elected to his legislative seat in 2023, succeeding Joel Joh. His recent social media activity reflects ongoing debates over education policy, school governance, and union influence within Arizona and at the national level.
