Matt Gress, a Republican member of the Arizona State House representing the 4th District since 2023, has recently shared his views on school board oversight, animal welfare events, and educational leadership through a series of posts on social media.

On October 18, 2025, Gress commented on the role of school board members in district oversight. He stated, “I’m glad school board members are finally getting the truth about their responsibility to be more actively involved in the oversight of their school districts, especially when it comes to school finance. Taxpayers need to be treated with much more respect than being seen as https://t.co/W4bjl2FQGz”.

The following day, Gress attended an event supporting animal welfare. On October 19, he posted about his participation at a local fundraiser: “What an un-fur-gettable day at the “Compassion with Fashion” event for the Arizona Humane Society (@azhumane)! Always proud to stand up for our four-legged friends and the paws that make every Arizonan’s heart full. https://t.co/3Di0jrXH8L”.

On October 20, Gress congratulated Superintendent Boggs and Ben Blink regarding a new appointment in education leadership. He wrote: “What a great pick, Supt. Boggs (@mcschoolsup)! Ben Blink is a consummate public servant and visionary leader. The kind of talent Arizona kids deserve. Best wishes as you begin your service in @OsbornSchools. https://t.co/W2kFH6qCet”.

Gress began serving in the Arizona State House after winning election in 2023 to represent District 4, succeeding Joel Joh.
