Matt Gress, a Republican member of the Arizona State House representing the 4th House District since 2023, has recently shared updates on his official Twitter account about community engagement and state legislative actions.

On October 5, 2025, Gress highlighted his attendance at a fundraising event for a local nonprofit, stating, “We were honored to attend the Foundation for Blind Children’s ‘Night For Sight’ to raise money for an organization that has had a transformational impact in lives of so many people, like Aurora, with vision impairment. Because of FBC, she CAN do anything!”

Three days later, on October 8, 2025, Gress commented on a bipartisan legislative development: “Bipartisan. Unanimous. Focused on transparency. Today, Republicans and Democrats on the #AZLeg Joint Legislative Audit Committee unanimously ordered a special audit of Tolleson Union High School District after serious financial concerns came to light.”

Later that same day, Gress posted criticism of Governor Katie Hobbs’s financial management, writing, “This is the best encapsulation of Hobbs’s legacy yet. Her feckless financial leadership has created hard times for so many Arizonans. We’d be in worse shape without a Republican Legislature vetoing her bad ideas.”

Gress began serving in the Arizona State House in 2023 after replacing former representative Joel Joh. As a legislator, he has been active in both community events and state-level oversight efforts.
