HonorHealth has completed the acquisition of 11 Evernorth Care Group locations from Cigna Healthcare of Arizona, expanding its primary care network across the greater Phoenix area. The move aims to improve access to healthcare for residents throughout the Valley.

Evernorth Care Group has provided integrated primary care in Arizona for over five decades and serves about 80,000 patients. With these sites now part of HonorHealth’s system, patients will have access to a broader range of services within an established nonprofit network that includes nine acute-care hospitals, specialty and urgent care centers, and community-based resources.

Todd LaPorte, CEO of HonorHealth, stated: “This transition reinforces our commitment to improving health and vitality and maintaining, and where necessary, creating access points and opportunities for patients to receive the care they need, when and where they need it. Rooted in Arizona and built to serve our communities, we’re making it easier for patients to access world-class healthcare — supported by more than 45 primary care locations, a comprehensive cancer care network, outpatient surgery centers, a research institute and a wide range of community programs. Our caregivers work together every day to deliver care that is both highly skilled and deeply compassionate.”

The acquisition supports HonorHealth’s goal of offering coordinated patient experiences based on trust and teamwork developed over many years. More information about the transition can be found at HonorHealth.com/Evernorth.

HonorHealth is one of Arizona’s largest nonprofit healthcare systems with more than 17,000 employees and over 4,000 affiliated providers serving approximately five million people in the region.
