Gainey Business Bank in Scottsdale has launched a new financial literacy platform aimed at helping children and teenagers develop essential money management skills. The Earn & Learn app, now available to the bank’s customers, is the first of its kind offered by a financial institution in Arizona.

The initiative comes as many high school graduates across the United States face challenges with basic financial decision-making. Arizona, according to recent national assessments, has not yet fully implemented comprehensive plans for improving youth financial literacy.

The Earn & Learn app allows parents to guide their children through practical tasks such as tracking chores, managing spending, donating to local non-profits, and investing in stocks. Each child or teen receives a personalized prepaid Visa card linked to the app, which provides an educational experience designed to simulate real-life financial decisions.

“At Gainey Business Bank, we believe strong financial futures start with smart habits formed early,” said Rob Schwister, President and CEO. “This app isn’t just about teaching money management—it’s a fun, effective way for parents to motivate kids to complete chores, earn their own money, and spend responsibly.”

“Financial literacy shouldn’t start in adulthood—it should grow alongside children,” Schwister added. “This program reflects our commitment not just to our customers, but to the future of our communities. We couldn’t be more excited to offer it.”

Unlike other platforms on the market, this app emphasizes hands-on learning by allowing users to save money earned from chores and make choices about spending or donating those funds. The program also introduces young users to investing under parental supervision.

“As an Arizona business, it’s great to see a local financial institution step up to the plate to offer something significant in the fight to improve financial literacy in Arizona kids,” said Gregg Murset, Certified Financial Planner and CEO of BusyKid. “This practical, hands-on experience is the big difference for a child when it comes to learning how to manage money. I applaud Gainey Business Bank for being a leader in setting kids up for financial success in the future.”

The Earn & Learn app can be downloaded from both Apple and Google stores. More information is available at www.gaineybusinessbank.com/earnlearn.

Gainey Business Bank states that its mission is focused on fostering community growth through personalized banking solutions while supporting customer goals with integrity and innovation.

The program is provided through BusyKid; prepaid cards are issued by Pathward N.A., Member FDIC.
