Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky announced on Mar. 31 that the inaugural meeting of the Downtown Scottsdale Task Force will take place Tuesday, April 21 at Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West.

The task force is being launched as a collaborative advisory body aimed at shaping the future of Old Town Scottsdale. Its responsibilities include guiding discussions, setting priorities, and making recommendations to support Old Town’s long-term vibrancy, safety, economic health, and visual character.

“Old Town is one of Scottsdale’s greatest assets, and its future must be shaped by those who know it best — the people who work here, live here, invest here, and care about its character,” Borowsky said. “This task force will ensure that our community has a strong, informed voice in the decisions that will define Old Town for generations to come.”

Participants selected for the task force will work with the mayor’s office to evaluate challenges facing Old Town and develop solutions designed to enhance its cultural appeal and sustainability. The mayor’s office has emphasized resident engagement through updates and reports according to the official website.

Borowsky has supported community service initiatives for children, older adults, and underprivileged youth through board roles according to the official website. She previously served on the Scottsdale City Council from 2008 to 2012 where she advocated for fiscal conservatism and budget improvements according to the official website. Borowsky is also noted as a lifelong resident of Scottsdale according to the official website.

For more information about participating or learning about upcoming meetings of the Downtown Scottsdale Task Force, residents are encouraged to contact Mayor Borowsky’s office by phone or email.
