Derren Thompson has joined Western State Bank as Senior Vice President and Commercial Banking Officer at its Scottsdale, Arizona location. In his new role, Thompson will focus on commercial business development and work with business customers to provide financing solutions.

Thompson brings more than 35 years of banking experience to the bank. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Utah. He is involved in the community as a member of the Arizona Commercial Mortgage Lenders Association and volunteers with organizations such as Rosie’s House, JDRF, Pop Warner Football, and Little League Baseball.

Originally from Sandy, Utah, Thompson now lives in Scottsdale with his wife. They have three adult children.
