U.S. Representative David Schweikert, who won reelection in 2024 against Amish Shah, recently addressed issues ranging from military infrastructure to disaster relief and pro-life advocacy through a series of posts on his official Twitter account.
On January 20, 2026, Schweikert highlighted concerns about U.S. military presence in Greenland. He wrote, “We already have U.S. military installations on Greenland. Over the last 30 years, too much of that capability has been neglected.
The smart move is to rehab and modernize what we have, deepen reciprocity with Denmark, and keep our NATO relationships strong.” This statement comes amid ongoing discussions about U.S. defense strategy in the Arctic region and relations with NATO allies.
Later the same day, Schweikert commented on federal disaster response after severe flooding in Arizona’s Gila and Mohave counties. He stated, “FEMA denied Arizona’s disaster request after flooding in Gila and Mohave counties. Damage estimates are now $100M+ (up from $33.6M).
I signed onto @RepEliCrane’s appeal and FEMA needs to move fast. Send senior officials to Gila and Mohave to see the damage up close.” The rising damage estimates reflect the significant impact of recent natural disasters in Arizona.
On January 21, 2026, Schweikert shared recognition he received from a national advocacy group: “I’m honored to receive another A+ on Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America’s National Pro-Life Scorecard.
I’ll keep fighting to protect unborn life, support moms and families, and stop federal dollars from going to abortion providers.”
Schweikert has maintained his seat in Congress through closely contested elections in recent years. In 2024 he defeated Amish Shah with 51.9% of the vote compared to Shah’s 48.1%. Two years earlier, he narrowly beat Jevin Hodge by a margin of less than one percentage point.
