Arizona State Representative Matt Gress expressed his condolences following the tragic death of a Maryvale High School student. “Heartbroken for the family of the Maryvale High School student whose life was cut short today,” he said, emphasizing that “no parent should ever endure such a loss.”

Gress, who was elected to the Arizona State House in 2023 to represent the state’s 4th House District, replacing Joel Joh, stressed the importance of safety in educational environments. He declared, “Every student and teacher in Arizona deserves safe schools,” adding that ensuring this safety “must remain a top priority.”
